Rachel Knight is the Tourism Director for Berkeley County. Her passion and love of Berkeley County plays an important role in attracting tourists to of one the state’s fastest-growing counties.
She was born in Tuscaloosa, Alabama but grew up in Lexington, SC on beautiful Lake Murray. Rachel boasts a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications with a focus in Broadcast Journalism from the University of South Carolina Aiken.
Prior to Berkeley County Government, she was the Director of Philanthropy for Trident Literacy Association. Rachel has a strong background in communications, marketing and sales. She loves working closely with the community and helping people explore the world around them. Her goal is to attract both Berkeley County residents and visitors to ‘get out there’ and learn something they didn’t know before. Whether that’s visiting a historical plantation, going on an eco-tour in our beautiful Berkeley Blueways, dining and shopping in local establishments or attending a unique festival. Berkeley County has something special to offer to everyone.
Rachel’s favorite hobbies include being outdoors, boating, traveling, horseback riding, hunting and singing. She lives in Moncks Corner with her husband, two children, and their black lab, Zeta. She is an active member in her sorority’s alumnae chapter; Zeta Tau Alpha. Rachel was honored with the statewide 2018-2019 ‘Zeta Lady Award’ for her philanthropic endeavors and leadership in the Charleston area.
