Inspector Dan Isgett began his career in 1985 with the North Charleston Police Department where he served as a patrolman.  In 1987, he was hired at the Charleston County Police Department, which merged with the Charleston County Sheriff’s Office in 1991.

During his career with the Charleston County Sheriff’s Office, he served as a patrolman in all areas of the county and served five years as a major crimes investigator.   As a supervisor he was assigned to Criminal Investigations, Judgments and Executions, Family Court, Accreditation and Community Services. He left the Charleston County Sheriff’s Office in July 2015 to serve as an Inspector with the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office.

Inspector Isgett has been a Certified Assessor for CALEA, The Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, since 2006.  As an Assessor, he visits law enforcement agencies across the country to determine if they meet or are continuing to meet national standards established for law enforcement agencies.  He also assists the South Carolina Police Accreditation Coalition.

He earned an Associate in Business in 1987 from Trident Technical College and currently sits on the Criminal Justice Advisory Board for Trident Technical College.

Inspector Isgett has served as the President of the Tri-County Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 3 for ten years, assisting the lodge to become the largest and most active in the state.  He also served as the State Fraternal Order of Police 2nd Vice President for two years and the State fraternal Order of Police Treasurer for four years.

Inspector Isgett is also a member of the Exchange Club of Charleston, the largest Exchange Club in the United States.

Inspector Isgett resides in Goose Creek with his wife and children.
