Captain Barry Currie began his law enforcement career in 1988 at the Berkeley County Sheriff's Office as a Detention Center Officer.  Captain Currie then worked his way to the Patrol Division as a Patrol Deputy.  After a brief intermission from Law Enforcement Barry returned in 1995 to assume the duties of Lieutenant/Deputy Director of the Berkeley County Detention Center.  He was named Captain/Director in 2005 of the Detention Center. 

Currie recently served as Court Security Supervisor of the Judicial Services Division. In June of 2015, he was named Captain of the Judicial Services Divisions which consists of the Warrants Division, Civil Process Division, Court Security Division and Transport Division.
