Mosquito Abatement Resumes Spraying

The warmer temperatures we are enjoying, combined with the recent rains have led to an increase in mosquito populations.  Berkeley County Mosquito Abatement personnel have been inspecting and treating mosquito breeding sites for several months and have now commenced adult mosquito control spraying.  We strongly encourage all horse owners to contact their veterinarian and have their horses vaccinated against Eastern Equine Encephalitis (EEE).  Likewise, pet owners should take the simple steps to protect their dogs and cats from heartworms.  Beekeepers, cricket farmers, and all others with qu

Berkeley County Mosquito Alert

Mosquito AbatementIn response to a large salt-marsh mosquito hatch-off, Berkeley County Mosquito Abatement will be spraying, by aircraft, in the southern portion of Berkeley County over Daniel Island, Thomas Island, areas adjacent to Clements Ferry Road, and the dredge disposal sites along Clouter Creek. The aerial application will be made on Saturday, September 14th, between the hours of 6:30 and 10:30 a.m.
