Rick Ollic
Chief Deputy Sheriff

A dedicated and loyal law enforcement officer, Rick is the current Chief Deputy with the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office. In 1986 Rick began his law enforcement career with the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office as a patrol deputy in northern Berkeley County. He graduated from the South Carolina Criminal Justice Academy in 1987 and has earned a myriad of certificates in advanced courses throughout his career.

In April of 2014, Rick was promoted to Major to command the BCSO Operations Division; in August, Rick was promoted again to Chief Deputy, a position second in the chain of command only to the Sheriff.

Rick works hand-in-hand with the Sheriff in the accomplishment of all duties within the department. He is charged with the overall efficiency, effectiveness, and professionalism of the entire Office.

Rick and his wife, Cathy Orvin Ollic, have two sons, Christopher, a Master’s candidate at Pfeiffer University, and Benjamin, a junior at Wofford College. The Ollics are members of the Moncks Corner Presbyterian Church where Rick serves as a deacon. You may contact Rick by email at or phone, 843-719-4423.
