The mission of the Procurement Department is the acquisition of materials, supplies, equipment and services necessary for operation of the County's Departments and to insure that each purchase is made in a legal, ethical and professional manner in compliance with the County’s Procurement Ordinance and the practices of the procurement profession.
The Procurement Department:
- Secures materials, supplies, equipment and services at the lowest possible cost, while achieving the greatest benefit for the County
- Protects and controls all materials being held in the inventory supply room while minimizing investment and operating costs
- Analyzes the condition and value of all surplus items, either to relocate to other departments or obtain the highest monetary value by means of public auction, competitive sealed bids or surplus store
