Berkeley County Company to Donate Drone for County Rescue Efforts

MONCKS CORNER, SC – Berkeley County Rescue Chief Bill Salisbury and Sheriff Duane Lewis announced today that a local company will donate and present a drone for the county’s rescue efforts next week.

Berkeley County-based Skyview Aerial Solutions, who donated their equipment and time for the rescue efforts following the summer plane crash of an F-16 and Cessna, will present the drone to Rescue Chief Salisbury and Sheriff Lewis at a special presentation ceremony on Wednesday, February 17, 2016 at 10 AM at 202 Factory Street in Moncks Corner.

The 2nd Annual Tri-County Literary Celebration

The 2nd Annual Tri-county Literary Celebration (TLC) returns to the Lowcountry again in 2016 with extended hours plus more local authors, more performances, and all together more fun for all ages. This family-friendly event aims to recognize published authors residing in Berkeley, Charleston and Dorchester counties, foster interest in the arts, increase the number of avid Lowcountry readers, and connect writers and readers of all ages with published authors.

FEMA Grants 30 Day Extension

FEMA has granted a 30-day extension of the registration period for Individual Assistance. This means Berkeley County residents now have until January 4, 2016 to apply for disaster assistance with FEMA and the Small Business Administration (SBA).

Open House and Job Fair

Berkeley County Government is holding an Open House & Job Fair on Thursday, November 5th, 2015 from 10AM to 12PM and from 5PM to 7PM.  This event will be held at the Berkeley County Government Administration Building in the Assembly Room.  Please bring a copy of your resume or apply online in advance (must use Internet Explorer).
