Emergency Dispatchers Honored

 The Berkeley County 911 Communications Center is celebrating National Public Safety Telecommunications Week from April 13th – 19th by honoring dispatchers during this week and has named Ashley Taylor “Telecommunicator of the Year” for 2013.

Mosquito Abatement Resumes Spraying

Celebrate Earth Day

Berkeley County’s “Celebrate Earth Day” event will be held at Cypress Gardens and features recycling games for children, giveaways and a number of engaging booths and displays, including a new (CNG) Natural Gas powered truck courtesy of Republic Services.

Additional $27.5MM Received to Fund Road Improvements

Berkeley County officials announced today that the Charleston Area Transportation Study (CHATS) committee has granted the County an additional $27.5 million in funding designated for road improvements.  The funding was awarded to viable “federal aid eligible” projects currently underway.  Berkeley County will receive the monies to help support two road widening projects which qualify for the funding:
