Cypress Gardens’ Annual Swamp Safari Promises Intriguing Exhibits and Engaging Special Guests

Hundreds across the Lowcountry pull out their safari hats every year and visit Cypress Gardens for their annual “Swamp Safari”. The event has become quite popular with locals and will feature a full schedule of exciting swamp adventures.

JBE Inc. Expanding Operations into Berkeley County

Berkeley County officials announced today that JBE Inc. will be expanding its operations by establishing a new facility in Hanahan.  The company, which serves the automotive, paper, aerospace, recreational, and electrical industries, currently operates over 300,000 sq.ft. of warehouse space in Hartsville, SC, Charleston, SC and Pell City, AL.

“JBE has been a part of South Carolina’s business community for more than 30 years, and we are excited to celebrate with them once again as they create 20 new jobs,” said Governor Nikki Haley. “We look forward to their continued success”.

State Grant Received to Expand Rural Water Services

Some Bonneau Beach residents will soon be able to connect to county water services thanks to a Community Infrastructure Grant, Berkeley County officials announced today.  Governor Nikki Haley notified Supervisor Dan Davis that the County would receive $269,350 in state grant funds to extend water to the Horseshoe Neighborhood outside the Town of Bonneau.  Berkeley County Water & Sanitation will provide $30,000 in matching funds to connect low and moderate income families (LMI) to the water distribution line free of charge.

AGRO Merchants Group Expanding U.S. Operations

Berkeley County officials announced today plans for AGRO Merchant Group’s expansion into Berkeley County. The international distribution company owns and operates nearly two million square feet of temperature-controlled warehouse and distribution space in the United States, Austria, Ireland, Spain, and the Netherlands. The move is expected to create 63 new jobs and put some former Piggly Wiggly employees back to work.
