You are invited to help shape the Francis Marion National Forest’s Land Resource Management Plan, commonly referred to as a Forest Plan. Forest plans provide broad program-level direction for management of the land and its resources. The plan revision process occurs every 10 to15 years. Your voice matters.

At this meeting, learn and share information about:

  • Recreation opportunities and cultural/historic awareness
  • Connecting people to nature

Berkeley County Mosquito Alert

In response to a large salt-marsh mosquito hatch-off, Berkeley County Mosquito Abatement will be spraying, by aircraft, in the southern portion of Berkeley County over Daniel Island, Thomas Island, areas adjacent to Clements Ferry Road, and the dredge disposal sites along Clouter Creek.  The aerial application will be made on Thursday, July 24th, between the hours of 6:30 and 9:30 a.m.  If unfavorable weather conditions exist, the applications will be made on the next suitable day.  If you have any questions or concerns please contact Berkeley County

Cypress Gardens to Offer Garden Ornament Workshops

In a continuing effort to offer unique and exciting educational experiences for children and adults of all ages, Cypress Gardens will be offering  Garden Ornament Workshops on Saturday and Sunday July 26th and 27th.  Participants will learn how to hand craft beautiful garden ornaments with Portland cement.  The schedule is as follows:

Saturday, July 26th

9 AM – 11 AM (Hypertufa Workshop Part 1)
Learn how to make molds and mix tufa cement. Students will craft a stepping stone and a flower pot that will dry to resemble old tufa stoneware.
