Develop comprehensive plans and management strategies that promote balanced development and enhance the desirable characteristics of Berkeley County.

Strategies

1. Promote interagency coordination for facilities that impact growth.
2. Utilize development agreements so that development helps offset its impact.
3. Update and continuously monitor the Comprehensive Plan and zoning ordinances to keep pace with urbanization and to promote smart growth.
4. Evaluate and implement a plans review and permitting process in order to provide optimal customer service.
5. Develop detailed comprehensive Transportation Plan and Capital Improvements Plan.
6. Continually monitor and update the Water and Sanitation Master Plan and Capital Improvements Plan.
