Achieve a comprehensive economic development program directed toward economically sustainable and environmentally responsible opportunities.

Strategies

1. Develop and implement an economic development strategic plan, incorporating comments and recommendations of citizens, community groups, and existing industries.
2. Continue to participate in the Charleston Regional Development Alliance to communicate and share economic development information with allies and partners.
3. Provide support to existing industries to encourage continued growth and investment.
4. Recruit businesses and industries that are consistent with the comprehensive plan, environmentally compatible, economically sustainable, and improve the quality of life for our citizens.
5. Foster a team approach among staff for an efficient and effective economic development process.
