DuPont™ Plant Manager Honored

Governor Nikki Haley and the South Carolina Department of Commerce recently selected Jerry Good, Plant Manager of the DuPont™ Berkeley County facility, as a South Carolina Ambassador for Economic Development. Good was among 51 honorees from across the state recognized for outstanding economic development contributions to their local communities. The ceremony was held on April 17, 2012 during Industry Appreciation Week.

DuPont opened their highly anticipated, 20,000 square foot state-of-the art Kevlar® fibersfacility in Berkeley County late last year. The company’s total investment exceeded $500 million and created 140 new jobs right here in Berkeley County. 

DuPont officials say the 200,000 square foot state-of-the-art Berkeley County Kevlar® facility allows DuPont to boost productivity in a cost effective, reliable manner. They expect to increase the global Kevlar® production capacity by 40%.
