Berkeley County Register of Deeds, Cynthia B. (Cindy) Forte, was first elected in November 1990. She has been employed in the Register of Deeds Office since 1979. She is a graduate of Macedonia High School and the Medical University of SC College of Allied Health Sciences. She resides in Bethera SC.

Cindy Forte is a member of or currently works with the following associations and civic organizations:

• Secretary/Treasurer of the South Carolina Association of Clerks of Court and Registers of Deeds
