Visitation

Visitation is scheduled by appointment by the inmate in advance. The inmate is responsible for informing their visitors of visitation days and times. Name of visitor(s) must be on the visitation schedule provided by the inmate, or visit will not be allowed. No more than one (1) visitor will be allowed per visit.

Visiting Hours

Visitors must arrive 10 minutes prior to their scheduled visitation times.

Visitation can be cancelled without notice due to safety and security issues.

Visitor Rules & Regulations

• All visitors must properly identify themselves with legal picture I.D.
• Visitors will not enter any areas of the facility except approved routes to and from the visiting area.
• Visitors under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs will not be admitted to the facility.
• Visitors must be at least 17 years of age. Exception – children of Trustees may visit, however any children participating in visitation count toward the total of 3 visitors the Trustee may have and all children must be supervised and never left unattended.
• Visitors may not give or receive anything from an inmate.
• No personal effects such as purses, smoking materials, are allowed in the facility.
• All visitors are subject to search before entering the Detention Center.
• Members of the Clergy related to an inmate fall under the rules of general visitation.
• Disorderly contact will not be tolerated.

Proper Attire

• Visitors must remain fully clothed during their visit.
• Shoes and shirts are mandatory.
• Halter tops, underwear-type T-shirts, tank tops, fish net shirts, short skirts or shorts, or any type of shirt or pants made with see through fabric are not allowed by any visitor (male or female).
• Visitors may wear Bermuda-length shorts.
• Any Immodest/Inappropriate apparel is not allowed.

Mail

When sending mail to an inmate you must follow these rules:

• Put your name and return address on the envelope.
• Put the inmate’s full name (the name in which they were booked under)
• Address the envelope like the following example:
  John Doe
  c/o Hill Finklea Detention Ctr
  300 California Avenue
  Moncks Corner, SC 29461
• Books must be shipped directly from the publisher or bookstore, and must be in a soft cover format.
• Magazines and newspapers must be shipped directly from a publisher by a mail subscription only.
• Pictures must be mailed to the inmate. No polaroids are allowed.
• Eye glasses will only be accepted through the mail, no eye glass cases will be accepted.
• Incoming and outgoing mail will be inspected for contraband. Any mail found to contain contraband will be held by the Detention Center and may serve as the basis for disciplinary or criminal charges, or be returned to the sender.

Sending Money

For your convenience, there are three options for depositing funds to an inmate's canteen account. You may send an inmate a money order made out to the inmate in any denomination for them to deposit in their Inmate Canteen account. The money order should be mailed directly to the inmate in the format outlined above section marked Mail. A lobby kiosk is also available at the detention center for adding money to an inmate's canteen account. The lobby kiosk accepts cash or credit card and includes a processing fee for the deposit. Once the transaction is completed, the inmate will have immediate access to the funds. The lobby kiosk hours are Monday through Sunday, 8am to 10am, 6pm to 8pm, and during the hours of inmate visitation only. Friends and family can now make deposits directly into an inmate's account via the internet by clicking on the link below. The inmate will have immediate access to the funds once the transaction is completed. When doing an internet deposit you will need the inmates name, location, and ID number. The detention center will not provide you with this information; you must obtain it from the inmate. This service is provided solely by McDaniel Supply Company. Property Release

Personal or valuable property can only be released by the approval of the inmate on Mondays from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm.

Releasing of Inmates

The release process for inmates can take between 1-4 hours once all documentation has been received at the detention center.
