Emergency Medical Services Department | Pediatric Life Support

Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Classes at Berkeley County Emergency Medical Services (BCEMS) are taught and tested according to American Heart Association guidelines. 90% of lecture material is presented by projection of Microsoft PowerPoint. You will be required to participate in hands-on practical demonstrations throughout the course, and successfully demonstrate competency on both a written and a practical exam. BCEMS PALS classes are held as a two-day, 14 total class hour event, regardless of whether or not the participant has taken the course before.

We here at BCEMS believe that Basic Life Support (BLS) is a vital part of performing effective PALS. Therefore, verification of BLS skills will be conducted during the course.
